Quick Tip: The Symphony
The string section of an orchestra is my jam. To me it’s auditorly pleasing. The problem is I never know anyone who enjoys the symphony (or the ballet or the opera) as much as I do. It used to bother me, and I would just not go, but the older I get the more I’m like ‘fuck it, if no one else wants to go, I’ll go alone’. So much in life is wasted on waiting for other people.
I knew a couple who played for the Philharmonic and they were nice enough to give me tickets from time to time, but I can’t be arsed to go to the ends of the earth (the 19th). That’s another thing that comes with age; not wanting to leave your borough. So here is tip for classical music fans.
You should by all means go to the Paris Philharmonic (and to the science museum) at least once in your life, but if you’ve been there, done that, then you can find stuff that is closer, assuming like me you live rive gauche and don’t want to Uber it. I am not poor anymore, I don’t need the metro. You could not pay me to get on any line, much less line 5 to Pantin (ok maybe I don’t mind ligne 1, but no one can hate ligne 1, it’s that good).
