Cliche Hygge photo. RIP iPhone home button, you are sorely missed.

I love autumn and winter. I am at my happiest when it’s cold outside. All that hygge aesthetic? Live for it. It’s probably more enjoyable because I don’t have to leave my house to go to work. If I was up at 8am trying to ride the metro? I don’t think I’d look forward to it as much. Thankfully I get up whenever I feel like it, and only need to go from bedroom to living room.

For other’s you either really look forward to it too, or hate it. If you’re in Landlords and Tenants you’re probably seeing a lot of posts about this period. I didn’t realize how many people don’t know about the winter period.

From an American viewpoint it kind of blows our minds, but Treve Hivernale is a yearly thing that used to apply to the period from October to April, but I guess now is just November to March. Since I really don’t feel like going into all of the things it applies to, I will let the French government explain:

How it applies to property: https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F34736 and https://www.anil.org/parole-expert-logement-c-est-quoi-treve-hivernale/

How it applies to electricity bills: https://www.fournisseurs-electricite.com/guides/social/treve-hivernale
